Garden Lighting

Garden lighting is probably not going to be your first consideration as you plant a garden. However, it can potentially be a very valuable addition, as garden lighting gives your garden new life after dark. There are a number of different garden lighting options available. Lights can be hung or strung, or sit permanently above the plants like a street lamp. Solar lights are some of the most popular garden lighting options as they are designed to recharge during the day and emit light after nightfall. Therefore, they don’t require a nearby electrical outlet, which is important if your garden is far away from the house.

If you want to take a stroll in your garden at night without lighting, it can be an almost eerie experience; you don’t know if there are any creatures or spiders nearby, and you can’t really see where you are going. If you do happen to run into a cartoon in the darkness, that can be a heart attack-inducing experience.

Especially since one of the chief pleasures of having a garden is the visual aspect, it is usually a more rewarding experience to do this with the benefit of lighting. In fact, you will most likely find that your plants look different at night. Garden lighting can go a long way to improving the look of your garden and the feeling it creates.

Some people will not need to invest in garden lighting simply because they will be able to tend to the garden during the day, and won’t be concerned with it after dark. However, for more nocturnal people, this additional lighting can be a huge benefit. Even if you are going to use the lighting sporadically, it is capable of creating a peaceful and romantic atmosphere on those rare occasions.
